Adult Speech and Langage Therapy

Our experienced speech and language therapist specialise in providing personalised evaluations and evidence-based treatments for a wide range of adult communication and swallowing disorders, including:

Aphasia:

  • Language and communication impairments resulting from stroke, brain injury, or neurological conditions. Our therapy focuses on restoring expressive and receptive language skills to improve functional communication.

Dysarthria:

  • Difficulty with the motor control and coordination required for clear speech production. We utilize specialized techniques to improve speech intelligibility and vocal function.

Voice Disorders:

  • Problems with vocal quality, pitch, loudness, or vocal endurance. Our therapists work to optimize vocal function through therapy and, when appropriate, the use of voice amplification devices.

Swallowing/Feeding Difficulties (Dysphagia):

  • Challenges with the safe and efficient swallowing of food and liquids. We provide thorough evaluations and tailored treatment plans to enhance swallowing safety and function.

Social Communication Deficits:

  • Difficulties with conversation, nonverbal communication, and pragmatic language skills. Our therapists focus on improving interactive, real-world communication abilities.

Cognitive-Linguistic Impairments:

  • Problems with higher-level communication skills like memory, attention, problem-solving, and abstract reasoning. We address these issues through targeted cognitive-communication therapy.

Throughout the evaluation and treatment process, our therapist collaborate closely with each client to develop personalised goals and implement the most effective, evidence-based strategies. We are committed to empowering adults to regain their communication confidence and independence.
